Over a month after the release her comeback track “Flowers,” Miley Cyrus remains at the top of the music charts. Not only has the singer surpassed her previous record but has also marked another history for having the fastest-rising song to top the Pop Airplay Chart since 2016.

Miley Cyrus’s ‘Flowers’ Earns Top Spot in Pop Airplay Chart

Right after its fifth week, “Flowers” peaked at no. 1 in the radio airplay chart, thanks to the 17,481 spins it obtained during the February 12-18 tracking period. This groundbreaking milestone set Cyrus to claim her third Pop Airplay smash hit. The first one was her 2009 song “Party in the U.S.A.” while the second one was her 2013 hit single “Wrecking Ball.”

Furthermore, the extremely wide engagement of “Flowers” represented its fastest trip to no. 1 since mid-2016. For those who may not know, the last song, prior to Cyrus’s current hit, that received the same achievement was Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling.” Meanwhile, Adele’s late-2015 release “Hello” claimed this success more quickly, earning the first spot within five weeks.

“Flowers” is also thriving at the hot adult contemporary format. Just recently, it made its way to the Mediabase Hot AC chart. Finally, as of writing, the song is  Cyrus’s newly hailed longest-leading No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100.

She Celebrated One Month of “Flowers” Since Its Release

Ahead of Valentine’s day, Cyrus took the time to remember the first month of “Flowers” since its release. According to the singer, it has been remarkable to celebrate a song that remains to be at peak in the charts.

“Happy 1 month anniversary of Flowers! To still be celebrating #1 on the Hot 100 & around the world is phenomenal,” she wrote. “With Valentines Day coming up tomorrow this song feels even more meaningful to me.”

Cyrus also penned a message of appreciation to her fans. More specifically, she emphasized how important self-love is to everyone.

“I hope this holiday is filled with the joy of honoring LOVE in all of its forms,” she wrote. “It’s human nature to want to give & receive it. Sharing your love is special but it’s always important to save enough of that love for yourself. YOU are enough anything more is just extra.”

The singer concluded her post by thanking her supporters for an “incredible week.” For those who may not know, “Flowers” is part of Cyrus’s upcoming eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation. This music collection will be released on March 10, 2023 through Columbia Records and Smiley Miley.
