The premiere of NBC’s newest dance series, Dancing With Myself is right around the corner. This series explores the narrative that any person can have fun learning a new dance.

With a new series on the rise, it’s always interesting to take a look at the judges taking the panel for the first time. Dancing With Myself features three celebrity judges and one host. The creator of this series, Shakira will also be apart of the judging panel this season.

This Colombian singer got her start in the Latin music industry at 13 years old and has become incredibly popular ever since. She made her mark on the Latin music industry early in her career, then learned english in 2001 to create her first crossover album, Laundry Service, which sold over 200,000 records in its first week. This album established Shakira’s popularity in the Northern American market. Some of her most popular songs in the U.S. were released in her 2005 albums Fijación Oral, Volumen Uno and Oral Fixation, Vol. 2.

Shakira created the series Dancing With Myself based on the popularity of TikTok dance challenges. She got the idea to create the series because over 221,000 videos were created using her song “Girl Like Me.” This singer was previously seen as a coach on The Voice.

Nick Jonas

Jonas is no stranger to an NBC judging panel, in 2020 he joined The Voice as a coach. Even though he only coached for seasons 18 and 20, he brought two artists into the finale. His first artist Thunderstorm Artis placed in third, while he second Rachel Mac placed in fourth.

Jonas began acting on Broadway at the age of eight and released his first single in 2002. He later became known as part of the popular boy band, The Jonas Brothers. This group quickly found success and became huge names on Disney Channel. They were notably apart of the hit film Camp Rock and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Jonas has been successful as an independent artist, band member, and actor. He’s appeared as part of Broadway productions multiple times throughout his career.

Liza Koshy

Social media personality Koshy will also act as a judge on Dancing With Myself. She rose to fame as a comedian on the app Vine. Her success on the short video app followed her to YouTube in 2016. She quickly became known within the website because of her unforgettable facial expressions, quick pace, and overall goofiness. Her channel currently has over 17 million subscribers in present day. Her channel genre lies within the comedy realm, but sometimes features serious issues like anxiety or the pressure to fit in.

She’s perfect for the judging role on Dancing With Myself because she reportedly began dancing at the age of four. She began learning ballet, jazz, and tap as a child and joined her high school dance team once she was older. Even though Koshy is primarily a social media star, she has also held multiple acting and hosting roles.
