According to Cosmopolitan UK, Horwood seemed to become emotional while sharing his thoughts on Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola’s second performance during Saturday’s season finale. Fans on social media wondered if he was planning to say goodbye to the show.
“The way Craig got all emotional talking about thinking back to season 1 of Strictly Come Dancing is making me wonder is this his last season?” wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter). “He’s mentioned it a few times this year and now I’m worried he’s leaving…”
A representative for Horwood told Cosmo that the judge is not leaving the show. They also addressed a statement Horwood made about retiring at age 60. The rep clarified that 58-year-old Horwood was referring to his musical theater career, not Strictly.

Horwood Has Judged the Show Since Season 1
Horwood is the only Strictly judge who has appeared on the show since its first season back in 2004. The celebrity dance competition, which was the inspiration for Dancing with the Stars, just finished up Season 21.
Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach and her partner Vito Coppola were named the winners during Saturday night’s finale. This season, Horwood was joined on the judging panel by Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke.
In the past, Strictly‘s judging panel also featured the late Len Goodman, as well as longtime DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli, who left the show after Season 17. Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, who won Season 5 of the show, has also sat on the panel in the past.
