Meet MerseyGirls, Sensational Dance Troupe Joining ‘AGT: Fantasy League’

MerseyGirls have already proven their talent and determination in front of the United Kingdom crowd. Now, they’re gearing up to flaunt their exhilarating moves to captivate America. The female dance troupe is among the talented acts joining AGT: Fantasy League. Let’s get to know them better.
MerseyGirls was Formed Out of Intimate Friendship
Dancing together since they were five, MerseyGirls were girl pals who treated dancing both as passion and sport. Formerly called Just Us, the group was originally made up of Julia, Annie and Alice, Rebecca and Poppy.
Ahead of their audition on Britain’s Got Talent season 11, lead dancer Julia revealed that she would be proceeding to surgery for her scoliosis after the show. Therefore, their performance would be “the last time I’ll be able to do it.” Their inspiring stint on the show lasted until the Finals where they finished ninth in public vote.
In 2017, it was revealed that Julia had already undergone operation which cost £175,000, paid for by Simon Cowell. Fortunately, she was able to dance again. In 2018, MerseyGirls performed in public for the first time again. They subsequently embarked on tour in 2019, performing alongside Bailey McConnell, Kneworlduk also known as KNE, and Gabz.
MerseyGirls returned to Britain’s Got Talent on The Champions, surprisingly consisting of eight dancers. Given Julia’s history with scoliosis, her doing backflips and being lifted were indeed “special.” Consequently, they made it through to the final after winning the superfan vote.
They Will Compete on AGT: Fantasy League
After their impressive and remarkable journey on BGT: The Champions, MerseyGirls is now coming back for AGT: Fantasy League. The dance troupe officially announced the good news on Instagram.
Subsequently, the team gave a glimpse of what happened during the preliminaries. MerseyGirls uploaded a carousel of photos on Instagram, showing they’ve been enjoying the journey so far.
“LA dump filming for AGT fantasy league, what a time we had!” they wrote.
In one slide, they showed the behind-the-scenes of their interview. In another, they shared a group picture taken in front of a mirror. They also shared photos of their rehearsal day and a POV shot of the audience. Clearly, MerseyGirls are prepared for what’s ahead of them on the show.
