Meet Lioz Shem Tov, the Magician Bringing Humor to ‘AGT: All-Stars’
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Israeli magician Lioz Shem Tov (also known as simply Lioz) competed on America’s Got Talent Season 13 with his funny take on illusions. He’s also appeared on several other Got Talent shows over the years. Now he’s returning to the stage to compete in the new spin-off AGT: All-Stars.
Lioz Shem Tov Divided the AGT Judges in Season 13
Lioz has been performing for many years. In 2008, he reached the Semifinals of Last Comic Standing. In 2014, he reached the Finals of the “Funniest Person In The World” competition at the Laugh Factory. He also reached the Semifinals of Israel’s Got Talent in 2018.
Also in 2018, Lioz auditioned for America’s Got Talent Season 13. He told the judges he would be displaying telekinesis. As they soon found out, his tricks weren’t particularly magical, although they were funny. They included blowing bubbles and taking tissues out of a box.
Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell hit their red buzzers in response to Lioz’s audition. However, fellow judges Mel B and Howie Mandel loved the act. They both voted “yes,” while Klum voted “no.” It was up to Cowell to break the tie. He ended up admitting that the act was “actually really funny,” to which Lioz replied seriously, “This is not comedy.”
Thanks to Cowell’s “yes” vote, Lioz moved on to the Judge Cuts. His performance involved turning a rubber glove into Pikachu, a sea turtle, and more. He also did a trick with some differently sized playing cards. Lioz made the judges laugh, but he was unfortunately eliminated in this round.

What Has He Done Since the Show?
In 2019, Lioz competed on Australia’s Got Talent Season 9, making it to the Top 10. He later competed on France’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent Series 14. He advanced to the BGT Semifinals, but he had to withdraw due to health concerns.
Recently, Lioz has been performing his unique brand of comedy in Las Vegas as part of his Lioz Show. As seen on his Instagram account, fellow Got Talent contestants such as Dustin Tavella and Tape Face have stopped by the show.
Now Lioz is returning to the AGT stage for the upcoming spin-off AGT: All-Stars. He’s one of 60 former Got Talent acts competing to prove he’s the best of the best. Find out how he does when the show premieres on Monday, January 2, at 8/7c on NBC.
