Reading Time: 2 minutes
Haven Madison may have entered American Idol 2023 as a teen, but that doesn’t stop her from shining in the competition. Surely, her wonderful ability to create sentimental songs makes her a standout among others.
All set to reach the stars, haven is definitely laser-focused in being the season 21 winner. Let’s get to know her more.
Haven Madison Juggles High School, American Idol 2023
Hailing from Clarksville, Tennessee, Haven is a 17-year-old singer songwriter who particularly concentrates in country music. Yet, while her eyes are directed towards becoming an idol, she is also an active high school kid in their hometown. Currently, Haven is a cheerleader and an involved member of the community.
“I’m told daily what homework I have, upcoming tests, college applications, scholarship opportunities, and everything in between, yet everyday my soul sings a melody hoping there’s something more,” she wrote.
Since she graced the competition, Haven has served fans and viewers several of her self-composed songs. Her audition consisted of singing an original song titled “15,” convincing judge Lionel Richie with her “incredible” voice.
Often, her compositions tackle her personal circumstances, encompassing some serious issues. Back during Hollywood Week, she performed another original “Still Need You,” sending a message to people who struggled with depression. Avery, who’s now fortunately recovering, has become Haven’s inspiration in creating this song. According to her, this song was her “last hope” to convince Avery to “stick around.”
She Enters Top 12 of the Series
Drawing inspiration from her dad Jason Roy, Haven persists to prove that music runs in their family’s blood. Apparently, Jason Roy is the lead singer of Christian rock band Building 429, one which made hits such as “Where I Belong” and “Fear No More.”
Now, with a boosted morale and a more determined disposition, Haven has entered Top 12 of the competition. In celebration of this milestone, she sang her audition and original song “15.”
“15-year-old Haven in school wanted it now. Then 16-year-old Haven auditioning for American Idol wanted it now. And I’m 17 and by the grace of God I’m going to go get it now,” she said before.
If you want to see Haven progress in the competition, be sure to tune in on American Idol season 21. It airs every Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
