In a video promoting American Idol, Carrie Underwood recalled a prediction made by the show’s former judge Simon Cowell about her success after the show. Cowell’s prediction turned out to come true.
Carrie Underwood Recalls Simon Cowell’s Prediction About Her
Carrie Underwood previously made a series of videos reading from the diary she kept while she was competing on American Idol Season 4. Ahead of the show’s Season 24 premiere later this month, the show shared a compilation of these clips.
In one of the excerpts Underwood shared, she wrote, “Simon told me that I was not just the girl to beat, but the person to beat. He then went on to make a prediction that I would not only win the AI competition, but I would sell more albums than any other American Idol has.
The video includes audio of Cowell making this prediction on the show, along with some statistics that prove just how right he was. Underwood has sold over 85 million records worldwide and had 29 No. 1 singles throughout her career.
