After 20 seasons on Dancing With The Stars, Mark Ballas is hanging up his dancing shoes. If you didn’t know, the professional dancer announced his departure from the show during the final performance of the DWTS Tour.

Mark Ballas is Leaving DWTS

In a statement shared on social media, Ballas expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to have danced on the show for 20 seasons. He stated that he is departing DWTS to “pursue new challenges and opportunities” and will always cherish the incredible memories he made.

“I’ve done 20 seasons now,” Ballas said. “I started this journey when I was 21, 22, and honestly, being able to dance and perform for you fans … you guys are the best fans.”

Ballas expressed his fondness for DWTS season 31, which he won alongside TikTok star Charli D’Amelio in November. He had previously claimed the Mirrorball Trophy twice, once with Kristi Yamaguchi in season six and again with Shawn Johnson in season eight.

Ballas’ departure from DWTS is a significant loss for the show, given his popularity and the respect he has earned as a dancer. He has been a fan favorite for years, and his exit is sure to be met with sadness from many fans.

Nonetheless, Ballas concludes his time on DWTS on a high note, having won the Mirrorball Trophy in his final season. As one of the most accomplished dancers in the show’s history, he leaves behind a legacy of exceptional dancing and memorable performances.

Looking Back on His Career

Ballas is one of the most successful dancers in the history of DWTS. He has won the Mirrorball Trophy three times, and he has been a fan favorite for years. His departure from the show is a major loss, but he will leave behind a legacy of great dancing and memorable performances.

In his inaugural season in 2007, Ballas partnered with Melissa Joan Hart, securing a second-place finish. Season 6 proved to be a turning point as he partnered with Kristi Yamaguchi, triumphing as the first professional dancer to win the Mirrorball Trophy with a non-celebrity partner.

Ballas continued his winning streak in season eight, claiming the Mirrorball Trophy once again alongside Shawn Johnson. In addition to his success on DWTS, Ballas is also a talented choreographer. He has choreographed dances for many celebrities, including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Miley Cyrus. He has also released his own music, and he has toured with his band, Alexander Jean.
