Seemingly, pop superstar Mariah Carey has cancelled her plans of fighting ex-husband Nick Cannon regarding the custody of their twins. If such speculations ring true, the former lovers will remain joint custodians of 11-year-olds Monroe and Moroccan.

Mariah Carey Allegedly Declines Primary Custody Battle for Her Twins

According to an unknown source, Carey doesn’t anymore intend to seek primary custody over her children. For those who may not know, reports claimed that the pop star warned Cannon about this initial plan, aiming to break their joint custody arrangement since their 2014 divorce.

“The reality of the situation is that Monroe and Moroccan are usually with Mariah anyway,” the source said. “But she wants to put him on notice that he can’t just flit in and out of their lives while he attends to his other children.”

The Masked Singer host is now a father to 12 children with six different women. Last year, Cannon admitted that he’s “spread thin” trying to fulfill his fatherly responsibilities. Understandably so, the “It’s A Wrap” hitmaker would want a legal standing as the twins’ caregiver.

Her Boyfriend Bryan Tanaka Feels Like “Second Best” to Nick Cannon

As stated by the same insider, the custody petition was suggested by Carey’s 39-year-old backup dancer boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka. However, it seems that the legal move isn’t at the top of Carey’s priorities anymore.

“Bryan wanted her to go for full custody so he could get some space from Nick,” the source said. “But she hasn’t pulled the trigger and Bryan’s understandably upset.”

Furthermore, the source claimed that Tanaka has refused to ask for Carey’s hand in marriage over fears that she hasn’t fully moved on from her relationship with Cannon. Reportedly, the backup dancer doesn’t feel confident about his position in their romance.

“Bryan is tired of feeling like second best to Nick,” the source said. “It’s been the elephant in the room for years now and the main reason he hasn’t proposed or had kids with Mariah himself.”

Additionally, another unknown source claimed that Tanaka feels off whenever the estranged couple is on the phone. Whenever Cannon gets to be affectionate with Carey as he comes to town to see the kids, such fuels Tanaka’s “paranoia.”

The “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer hasn’t spoken up about the issue yet.
