Growing up heavily influenced by his famous father, Barker spent his early years touring with Blink-182 member Travis Barker, who fueled his love for music. Now, he’s making his own mark in the music industry. He’s spent a lot of time in the studio crafting his own sound. His debut single, “Friends With Your Ex,” inspired by his romance with TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, delves into the complexities of their relationship.
Although signing to his father’s Elektra Imprint DTA Records was his ultimate goal, Barker had to prove himself first. His record deal wasn’t handed to him easily. In fact, his dedication to music was shown when he contributed lyrics to Machine Gun Kelly’s “Die in California.” The song was co-written and produced by his father, Travis.
He also recalls an emotional moment when he performed on stage with Machine Gun Kelly at Madison Square Garden just hours after finding out that his father had been hospitalized. This experience then taught him to push through adversity and perform for his dad’s sake.
Amid these challenges, Barker also struggled with alcohol and suffered a concussion, leading to multiple hospital visits. He now acknowledges the importance of not making alcohol a habit. Now, the 20 year old chooses to drink in moderation and only on special occasions.
In the interview, Barker emphasized the significance of sharing his experiences with mental health challenges, including ADHD, OCD, anxiety, derealization, and depression. He aims to offer support and inspiration to those who may be facing similar struggles. He encourages them to seek help and treatment.

Barker’s journey in music reflects his passion for the industry, inspired by the pop-punk music he grew up listening to. He’s now incorporating elements of his musical roots into his work. In doing so, he’s creating a unique sound that combines pop and rap influences. He collaborates with artists like Nick Long, who encouraged him to infuse his real-life experiences into his music, resulting in his first single.
Barker’s honesty about his mental health struggles and his commitment to staying in a better place mentally are commendable. By sharing his story and the tools he uses for his well-being, he hopes to inspire others who may be facing similar challenges.
As Barker continues to make his mark in the music industry and navigate his personal journey, his dedication, resilience, and willingness to open up about his struggles serve as a source of inspiration for others dealing with their own mental health issues.
