NBC's The Voice is branching off to new horizons and creating a Spanish-language version of the show. La Voz is sure to be a hit considering its "sister" show brings in the big bucks and even bigger views. Similarly to The Voice, Telemundo's La Voz will feature a star studded coaches table. Luis Fonsi, commonly referred to the 'Despacito' singer is first on the La Voz roster. The Latin pop-star will #bless singing hopefuls with musical advice that will carry them through the competition. “I am very selective about what voice I want," Fonsi told SunSential when asked about finding the perfect voice. "I can’t describe what voice that is. It’s the moment, the magic you feel when the hair on the back of your neck stands.” Some may refer to this as the "it" factor which seems to be the theme for coaches on both shows. The format is very similar to the English-language Voice and will feature blind auditions and battle rounds. Contestants will then compete in live shows to win the ultimate title. If it ain't broke don't fix it, we love that they're sticking to a format that works! Fonsi will be joined by Colombian pop singer Carlos Vives, Mexican singer Alejandra Guzman and Puerto Rican rapper Wisin. The contestants consist of 18 and up hopefuls that auditioned last year in cities around the nation. Singers from Los Angeles, New York, Puerto Rico, Chicago and San Antonio are all traveling to Miami in pursuit of the ultimate dream. What can fans expect? That spicy Latino flavor! “We are louder. We are Latino. We jump higher. We scream louder. We poke fun at each other like the NBC version. There are obviously similarities because it is a format but you will definitely feel whatever it is that sets us apart,’’ explained Fonsi. One of the things that will set La Voz apart from other competition shows is the music styles. The bonus is going to be the reggaeton, ranchera, bachatas and tejano numbers. These are styles we've never seen on NBC's version and its so awesome that these styles will finally be highlighted on national television. According to Fonsi ,"We have very American sounding artists. You have a little bit of everything,’’ he said. So pop and country stars don't fret...there will be a sound for every audience.
