Kelly Clarkson’s son Remy might end up being an even bigger star than his famous mom, as he recently went viral for the Frank Sinatra cover he performed on Clarkson’s talk show. The 8-year-old was proud of how many views the clip racked up.
Kelly Clarkson’s Son Reacts to Song Cover Going Viral
In November, Remy and his older sister River, 10, were present in the studio as Clarkson filmed an episode of her talk show. At one point, Remy took the stage to entertain the audience with his rendition of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra, backed up by Clarkson’s band.
The performance was a hit, as the video has racked up over 1.5 million views on YouTube as of this writing. The initial clip was pretty short, but The Kelly Clarkson Show recently posted a video of Remy’s full performance for fans to enjoy.
During another appearance on the show, Clarkson asked Remy how he felt about his performance going viral. He cracked up his mom and the audience by asking, “How much views did I get again?” Clarkson said that when she told Remy he got over a million views on the clip, he asked her, “Do you get that many views?”
“I was like, ‘Calm down. And not often,'” Clarkson joked about how many views she gets.
When Clarkson asked Remy why he chose to sing “My Way,” he shared that he heard the song in the movie Sing, adding, “I love that movie, and I just like that song.” River said she “can’t even count” how often she hears the song at home.
When asked if he was nervous to perform, Remy responded, “Fifty-fifty.” He explained that he’s practicing to perform the song at his school at the end of the year. Clarkson told him that he’s “ready” for the big performance.
River is also interested in music, as she shared, “I like to write, and I like to sing … I do that a lot in my room, and I spend hours and hours and hours trying to do a song.” Clarkson told her daughter that her “songs are good.”
