Kelly Clarkson Releases New Single ‘I’d Be Lyin”

As usual, American Idol winner Clarkson shows off her powerhouse voice on the new single “I’d Be Lyin’.” The track starts off strong, with a winky reference to one of Clarkson’s biggest hits, “Since U Been Gone.”

“It’s not the same without ya, you are right where I belong / I can’t remember a time I was happy since you’ve been gone,” Clarkson sings to open the song. However, she follows this up with, “Ain’t what I’m sayin’ / If I said that then / You’d hear your truth, and / I’d be lyin’, no, no, no.”

Fans in the comments of the song’s visualizer on YouTube expressed excitement that Clarkson seems to be embracing her pop rock roots with this new music. One user wrote, “Man I feel like 2000s again.” Several commenters also praised Clarkson’s vocals, particularly on the song’s soaring bridge.
