Kelly Clarkson Teases Upcoming New Album on Her Talk Show

The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson’s new album might be coming sooner than we think, since the singer reportedly shared a song from the project during a recent taping of her talk show. Clarkson had teased the performance during an Instagram live.

Kelly Clarkson Performs Song from Her New Album

Earlier this week, a Twitter account called @kellystats posted that Clarkson had performed a song from her upcoming new album on her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. However, the performance hasn’t aired yet.

Twitter user Michael Wood responded by writing, “Yes! The audience was told to not share anything. Some people know the title but can’t say. And apparently the episode is set to air April 18th.”

Clarkson actually teased that she was about to film the performance during an Instagram live video on Wednesday. The singer shared her excitement, but said it was “weird to sing.” She added that much of the album is either angry or sad.

She also teased that the album is coming out “so quickly,” although she was careful not to accidentally share the exact release date.

The Album Is Inspired by Clarkson’s Divorce

Clarkson’s upcoming 10th studio album was inspired by her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The singer has said that it “took a minute” before she was ready to release the project, explaining that she “had to get past it in order to talk about it.”

She also revealed during an Instagram live earlier this year that she has “a really cool way we’re releasing it,” adding that she had already done a photo shoot for the album. Clarkson explained that the shoot made her feel “really free.”

This will be Clarkson’s first non-Christmas album since her 2017 release Meaning of Life. In 2021, she released the holiday album When Christmas Comes Around… She also released a Kellyoke EP last year featuring several covers.
