Kellyoke Tops the iTunes Albums Charts on Its Release Date
Kelly Clarkson fans have been eager to get their hands on this EP and it really shows. The six track EP features the early release track “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish, as well as “Blue Bayou” by Linda Ronstadt, “Call Out My Name” by The Weeknd, “Queen of The Night” by Whitney Houston, “Trampoline” by Shaed, and “Fake Plastic Trees” by Radiohead. Each track has already exceeded fan expectations.
This EP has quickly become Clarkson’s next power move. Its release launched her on to the top of the iTunes Albums Chart. It’s no surprise that Kellyoke is already successful for the singer since the fan favorite talk show segment has repeatedly gone viral on YouTube. If you thought the on stage versions of these songs were good, you will love this EP. The studio recordings of these tracks are at another level.
I didn’t think this EP could get any better after Clarkson’s “Happier Than Ever” sneak peek, but it totally did. While her early release is definitely my favorite, each song highlights her vocal strengths. The EP shows off her beautiful tonality, powerful vocals, and emotion.
To celebrate the release date, The Kelly Clarkson Show published a special encore performance of “Happier Than Ever” on their social media. Alongside this video is another of Clarkson explaining that she created this EP based on her popular “Kellyoke” talk show segment.
The segment began as a nod to the singer’s years on the road. As a result, she incorporated her nightly fan cover request into the beloved daily talk show segment. At the beginning of each episode, she performs a different cover, picked by an audience member. Since the series began in 2019, Clarkson and her band has performed over 500 songs on the talk show. Videos from this segment often gain traction online due to Clarkson’s impressive vocals.
On May 25, Clarkson released her first Kellyoke track, “Happier Than Ever,” which gained traction on social media (especially Twitter) becoming a fan favorite cover of the song. This song originally made headlines due to the singers strong vocal range in September 2021.
