Kelly Clarkson has apparently returned to hosting her eponymous talk show following an extended absence earlier this month. The details of the situation have not been shared, but Clarkson’s absence was reportedly due to a “personal matter.”
Kelly Clarkson Returns to Talk Show After Absence
Clarkson has been absent from her talk show several times this month, with stars such as Simu Liu, Wanda Sykes, and Roy Wood Jr. filling on for her. The show didn’t share a reason for her absence, although sources told TMZ that she was “completely fine” and dealing with a “personal matter that does not directly involve her.”
The last time Clarkson appeared on her show before this week was on March 5. She finally returned to host the show on Tuesday, March 18, kicking off the episode with a Kellyoke cover of “Flames” by Will Swinton. However, Clarkson was absent again on Wednesday’s show, with Andy Cohen stepping in as host.
The Kelly Clarkson Show recently shared this week’s schedule on Instagram, with guest hosts listed for Monday and Wednesday’s episodes. However, it looks like Clarkson will be back at the helm on Thursday and Friday.
A representative for the show reportedly told Good Housekeeping in a statement that Clarkson has returned to film new episodes of the show. Wednesday’s episode with Andy Cohen was apparently pre-taped during her recent absence.
Fans commented on the new video of Clarkson’s Tuesday Kellyoke performance to express how happy they were to finally see the talk show host back on their TV screens this week. Even with great guest hosts in her absence, viewers really love to see Clarkson at the helm.
“It’s so great having our favorite talk show host back on air!” wrote one fan, while another commented, “I’m so glad she’s back! We missed you Kelly.” Another fan remarked that they “missed her so much” during her absence.
