Kelly Clarkson Covers Gwen Stefani’s Song ‘Misery’— Which ‘Voice’ Coach Sang It Better?

Kelly Clarkson on this weeks’ “The Kelly Clarkson Show” performed a powerful cover of ‘Misery”, originally sung by Gwen Stefani. She took on the Voice coach’s song by changing it to rock song instead of it’s regular pop sound. Kelly proved this week that she can take any song and add her own twist to it and make it sound amazing. Better than the original or not, watch the performance below and decide.
Kelly Clarkson Performs Gwen Stefani’s OG Song ‘Misery’
Clarkson during her talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show” always starts off with a performance of a song chosen by a member of the audience. She always calls this segment “Kellyoke” and all the covers can be seen on her show’s youtube channel. This week she decided to add her spin to Gwen Stefani’s “Misery.” The single is from Gwen’s album “This is What The Truth Feels Like.”

Instead of singing it in its usually pop beat Kelly changed the song and we are obsessed. Most of Kelly’s own music is pop rock so it wasn’t shocking to see that she changed Gwen’s song to the same genre. While performing it with her band she wore a stylish red top and black pants, her style on the show has been amazing these past weeks!
Fans went crazy in the comments for this performance. “OMG I didn’t expect Kelly to cover Gwen’s “Misery”, I’m sooooo here for it, is it a dream?!! A queen singing another queen’s song💖” said one commentator on YouTube. “Gwen’s entire discography is so underrated!! Thanks Kelly, great cover 👏🏽👏🏽🎉🎉” wrote another fan.
This isn’t the only amazing cover Clarkson has done, last week she took on Heart’s “Barracuda” which is a tough song to sing, but not for The American Idol winner. She’s also taken on some famous songs in the past such as, “Runaway Train” by Soul Asylum, “A Little Respect” by Erasure and “It Must Have Been Love” by Roxette.
Kelly’s Ongoing Divorce With Brandon Blackstock
Despite such amazing success in her show, Kelly is currently still battling her tough divorce to Brandon Blackstock. The couple filed for divorce in June. She is also suing him and starstruck entertainment for performing “illegal services.” Brandon denies the allegations against him and his father who owns the company.

Right now Kelly is trying to continue having fun on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”. She is working on a new album and is currently selling two of her homes after moving into a brand new one.
