Over the summer, rumors swirled that former American Idol judge Katy Perry was dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Those rumors appear to have been confirmed by new photos of the pair embracing on Perry’s yacht.
Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau Romance Confirmed by Photos
Over the weekend, the Daily Mail published paparazzi photos of Perry and Trudeau together on Perry’s yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. In the shots, Perry can be seen wearing a one-piece bathing suit while Trudeau sports jeans and no shirt.
The snaps show the pair embracing and seeming to kiss. In one photo, Trudeau rests his hand on Perry’s backside. This appears to confirm rumors from earlier this year that the pop star and former politician have been seeing each other.
The rumors first started in July, when the pair was spotted having dinner together in Montreal, Canada. Photos also surfaced of the pair strolling through Mount Royal Park with Perry’s dog. At the time, Perry was in Canada for her Lifetimes Tour.
Two days later, Trudeau was reportedly spotted at Perry’s concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre. A source told People at the time, “They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes.”

Perry Recently Split from Orlando Bloom
Earlier in July, Perry and her former fiancé Orlando Bloom announced their split. The pair got engaged in 2019 and welcomed a daughter named Daisy in 2020. In their joint statement, Perry and Bloom said they were focused on “raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Trudeau, meanwhile, was formerly married to Sophie Grégoire, with whom he shares three children. The couple split in 2023, after 18 years of marriage. Trudeau left office earlier this year, having served as Canada’s prime minister since 2015.
