Julianne Hough will be absent in several previews of Broadway’s newest comedy, POTUS. The professional dancer shared a message on Instagram stating that she is currently off set due to a positive COVID test.

This former Dancing With the Stars professional will not be returning to the Broadway stage in the upcoming days. On April 19, the celebrity confirmed that she has tested positive for COVID-19 amid preview shows of the Broadway comedy, POTUS. Within her Instagram stories, she confirmed her absence from preview shows due to caution.

“I am feeling okay, but unfortunately need to miss a few POTUS shows. Out of an abundance of caution, I’ll be quarantining until I get the safe sign-off to return,” Hough wrote.

This COVID diagnosis came four days after POTUS‘s preview shows began at the Shubert Theatre in New York City. POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive is a satire written by the creator of Apple TV’s series, The Morning Show. This comedy is about the women in charge of the President of the United States. Its narrative follows the all-female cast through the President of the United States spinning a PR nightmare into a global crisis. The ladies risk their life, liberty, and pursuit of sanity to keep him out of trouble.

The Broadway cast includes Hough, Rachel Dratch, Lilli Cooper, Lea DeLaria, Suzy Nakamura, Julie White, and Vanessa Williams. The show previews have been welcomed with positive reviews since its opening on April 15. POTUS officially opens at the Shubert Theatre with an April 27 matinee performance. Hough has not shared an anticipated return date at this time, but fans hope to see her at the show’s official opening.

Julianne Hough Begins “New Chapter” in New York City

Hough recently moved from Los Angeles to New York City for her Broadway career. While the professional dancer originally saw her move as strictly for her new job, she has since decided to turn it into a new beginning all together following her divorce. Hough and ex husband Brooks Laich reached an agreement in terms of their 2020 split in February 2022.

The couple had tied the knot in 2017 and announced their split in 2020. The couple began having problems in 2019. Since moving last month, the professional dancer has shared several photos of her new home in the city. In March, Hough changed her mindset from moving for a job to beginning a new chapter.

Since moving into the new home, Hough has shared tons of uplifting and positive content. Yesterday, she shared a photo sitting in front of a fireplace. Within the caption she shares her gratitude for the life she’s currently living. Even though her COVID-19 diagnosis put a temporary pause on her Broadway career, it’s clear that Hough will remain positive of the situation.
