Jugglers Nearly Light Simon Cowell On Fire In Dangerous ‘AGT’ Act [VIDEO]
Reading Time: 3 minutes
The Passing Zone is one of the many acts that has used Simon Cowell as a volunteer up on the ‘AGT’ stage. They have appeared on the show twice, the second time making sure that Simon was completely humiliated and a little bit frightened. Check out their nail-biting performance down below.
The Passing Zone Humiliated Simon Cowell On ‘AGT’
You might remember The Passing Zone when they first auditioned for ‘AGT’ in the very first season. The duo consisting of Owen Morse and Jon Wee impressed judges, Piers Morgan and Brandy Norwood. However, judge David Hasselhoff was pretty skeptical. The duo was sent into the Semi-Finals where they juggled three audience members. They made it to the finals and performed a juggling routine where David stood in between them. The duo finished the competition in the bottom half of the Top 10.
The Passing Zone returned to audition again in season 11. Howie Mandel was used as the volunteer for this act. But the big story was when Simon was used as a volunteer during their Semifinals performance where they were brought back as the wild card. They brought Simon up to the stage and told him to stand very still. Simon got a bit frustrated as both men were talking at the same time. They made him wear a ridiculous helmet with devil horns on it.

John and Owen then gave Simon pitchforks to hold in each of his hands. They attached a spinning mechanism to the helmet and then proceeded to light it on fire. They also lit the pins they were juggling on fire and turned the ‘AGT’ stage into a flaming inferno. The duo juggled the flaming pins just inches from Simon’s face. Simon completed the act unscathed but was super embarrassed when host Nick Cannon asked to look at the footage in slow motion.
The Passing Zone was later eliminated from the competition but not without humiliating Simon first. Check out the compilation below to see 10 acts that totally had Simon feeling mortified.
Where Are They Now?
The Passing Zone performed on Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2019 and again in 2020. The second time around, the duo juggled as Teller built a card castle, seemingly unphased by the act. They then brought out the flaming torches and also did some knife throwing, but they did not fool Penn and Teller.
Now amid the coronavirus pandemic, The Passing Zone is doing virtual performances. “Having traveled the world with our hilarious and dangerous stunts, we are now delighting audiences everywhere while broadcasting performances from our own studio theatre space, with state-of-the-art online capabilities, bringing the fun and action directly to your audience” they wrote on their website. “With virtually no effort on your part, your people will enjoy every second from the comfort of their homes or video screens anywhere!”
