America’s Got Talent fans saw the first round of the quarter finals last night. During the episode, fans showed concern for singer Jourdan Blue, when he didn’t appear in the beginning of the episode with the other Golden Buzzers. Here’s why he ended up performing later in the episode.
Jourdan Blue Almost Didn’t Perform on AGT Live Show Due to Illness
On Tuesday night, Jourdan returned to the AGT stage singing “Biblical” by Calum Scott. To many, it may seem like the singer was on top of his game. Unfortunately, he wasn’t. After the performance was over, Simon Cowell asked him about him being sick.
“Somebody told me just before the break that you nearly didn’t come on because you’re sick is that right?” Cowell said.
The singer then replied, explaining that he had thrown up three times before going on the stage.
“You could’ve bailed actually…” Cowell said. “I’m gonna say this I always liked you from your first audition, the fact that you actually had the guts, the strength to come out and sing you did bloody well.”
“This means everything to me, there wasn’t going to be anything that held me back from it,” Jourdan said.
It’s clear that sick or not, Jourdan is still a frontrunner in this year’s competition. As of writing, his AGT Season 20 audition has earned 6.5 million views on YouTube. Right now, his quarterfinals performance has been watched by 67 thousand on the same platform.
Since the performance was live, fans have begun commenting on both his performance, and his work ethic. It seems many were impressed with his dedication to the show.
“That’s commitment even though he was sick determined to fight through great job hope he makes it all the way through wins the end,” a fan commented on YouTube.
“HE’S SICK? WOW. What a performance from him. Jourdan Blue, you may just go on to win the whole thing,” another user wrote on X.
Fans are also looking forward to the possibility of seeing him perform once he’s well again. America’s Got Talent will reveal if Jourdan Blue made it to the next round on Wednesday, August 20 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
