Jessie James Decker Ignores Comments About Her Kids
Last year, Decker received a negative reaction after she posted an image of her three kids during a family vacation in Mexico. Some people criticized the kids’ defined muscles, even accusing Decker of Photoshopping the photo.
Decker responded in a separate post, writing, “I want to raise my kids to feel proud of their bodies and hard work.” In a new interview with E! News, Decker talked about how she handles negativity when posting on social media.
“I’m proud of my kids and when I see a reaction, I’m always a little shocked,” Decker told the outlet. “I realize that I have a lot of eyes watching, but I don’t let it affect what I want to post.”
Decker added, “I’m going to live my life and not let the outside noise get to me.”
Decker Shared Her Advice for Fellow Moms
“There’s going to be the shamers but there’s also a sense of community,” Decker said of posting online. “Embrace the community, block out the hate and just follow your own instincts.”
She also advised fellow moms, “Do what you want to for yourself and your family.” The singer said they “don’t owe anyone anything,” adding that “you are the mother and you’re going to know what’s best.”
Decker shares three children with her husband, former NFL player Eric Decker — 8-year-old daughter Vivianne and sons Eric Jr., 7, and Forrest, 4. The pair got married in 2013. Last year, Decker reached 10th place on Dancing with the Stars with her partner Alan Bersten.
