‘DWTS’ Alum Jessie James Decker Claps Back At Haters for Body Shaming Her Kids
Dancing With The Stars celebrity Jessie James Decker didn’t expect an innocent photo of her kids to earn negative reactions. In an Instagram post, Decker addressed the body shaming remarks thrown at them during their vacation in Mexico.
Jessie James Decker’s Kids Face Criticisms For Having Abs
For Thanksgiving, Jessie James Decker and her husband Eric decided to take their three kids—Vivianne, Eric Jr., and Forrest—to a beach in Mexico. On Instagram, the DWTS alum shared a photo of her children on their swimming outfits, showing their abs.
“I love these smiles. The strength. So in their bodies. Fun goals,” Blair wrote.
While there were supportive comments, the physique of Decker’s kids didn’t seem right for other social media users. Some invaded the comments with hurtful and offensive remarks, believing that her children’s bodies are strange. One user even wrote that Decker photoshopped her kids’ abs.
She Defends Her Kids Against “Unkind” Comments
Understandably, Decker didn’t take these body shaming remarks lightly. She took the time to respond to users, saying that they can’t call her children’s appearance “strange,” just because they don’t look the way they expect.
On a separate Instagram post, she uploaded a short compilation video of her children. Along with this is a long caption where she addresses the issue.
“We preach about body positivity and acceptance but my kids having a mass amount of genetic and built muscle from athletics is ‘weird’?” she wrote. “I want to raise my kids to feel proud of their bodies and hard work.”
For those who may not know, all of Decker’s children are physically active. Vivianne is a gymnast while Eric Jr. trains to be a football player. Forrest, on the other hand, is a dancer. This evidently explains why her kids have toned bodies.
Soon after Decker’s post, several internet users came to support her. One parent commented that her kids are also athletic and that they workout daily. Additionally, a national gymnast shared in the comments that she was also ridiculed when she was young solely because of her muscles.
The DWTS celebrity further wrote, “If we wanna do ‘better’ then do better. I’m proud of my children and encourage them to live their dreams. So we’ll see y’all at the 2032 Olympics, and wearing Bubbys jersey in the stands and dancing at Forrests rock concert.”
