Jennifer Lopez Gets Personal Talking About Her New Album, Film With Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez brought old Hollywood glamour to the 2023 Elle Women in Hollywood event this week. Walking the red carpet in a plunging Ralph Lauren gown with husband Ben Affleck, Lopez opened up about her deeply personal new projects – an album and accompanying film documenting her romantic journey with Affleck.
Jennifer Lopez Says “Nobody Knows Her More” Than Ben Affleck
Lopez revealed that her new album, named This Is Me… Now, was not something she had planned. She stated that after completing the music, she realized there was more to the story than just a love story. According to her, there was more to be told.
So Lopez decided to create a documentary film that chronicles the making of the album and her real-life love story reunion with Affleck. Titled This Is Me… Now: The Film, Affleck co-wrote the project with Lopez.
“We collaborate very well together, and nobody knows my story more than he does,” Lopez. “So we were able to kind of sit down and really dig into it, in a way that I don’t think any other writer could’ve done with me.”
Lopez confessed she hadn’t been this thrilled about a creative project in years. Yet she feels safe tackling such a personal story with Affleck’s support.
“I realized I had to really get personal to tell it,” Lopez said about deciding to add her romantic journey into the film. “The scary thing is putting it out. That’s the scary part.”
The multi-talented star was honored at the Elle event among other entertainment industry leaders. Lopez said the recognition from her female peers was deeply meaningful.

Star power was on full display at this week’s Elle Women in Hollywood Awards. Lopez and Affleck arrived arm in arm at the event, held at Nya Studios in Los Angeles.
Lopez dazzled in a metallic breastplate top and high-waisted black pencil skirt, showing off her famous curves. Affleck looked sharp in a classic black suit and tie next to his wife. The pair shared a sweet kiss on the red carpet for the cameras.
The Elle Women in Hollywood Awards honor influential women leaders in the entertainment industry. Lopez stood out as one of several honorees at the event also attended by Nina Garcia, America Ferrera, Taraji P. Henson, and more.
Lopez and Affleck will soon collaborate on an upcoming documentary film chronicling the creative process behind Lopez’s new album This Is Me…Now. At 54, with a thriving career across music, film, and business, Lopez shows no signs of slowing down. The Elle event affirmed her status as one of Hollywood’s most inspiring women.
