Jennifer Lopez has reportedly filed for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage. Rumors have been swirling for months now that the couple was headed for a split, and now it appears to be official.
Jennifer Lopez Files for Divorce from Ben Affleck
TMZ reports that Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, choosing to do so without a lawyer. She listed the date of separation as April 26 of this year.
Although the couple officially got married in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, they had a more traditional wedding ceremony on August 20 of that year. Lopez’s divorce filing coincides with the second anniversary of that celebration.
According to TMZ, Lopez did not specify in her filing whether she and Affleck had a prenuptial agreement. Sources have told the outlet that there wasn’t one. That would make their earnings during their two years of marriage community property.
Lopez has apparently waived spousal support and is asking a judge to deny it to Affleck as well. The couple has reportedly been working out a settlement for months prior to Lopez’s filing this week.

Lopez Has Been Married Four Times
Lopez has been married four times — to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, Marc Anthony, and Affleck. She and Affleck were previously engaged in the early 2000s before breaking things off. They rekindled their romance years later.
Affleck has been married twice. He tied the knot with actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, and they divorced in 2018. The couple has three children together. Lopez has two children with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. She and Affleck do not share children, so there won’t be any custody issues involved in the divorce.
Neither Lopez nor Affleck has made a public statement about their divorce since news of the filing broke this week.
