Jake Zyrus Announces Social Media Detox for Mental Health

Filipino singer Jake Zyrus has decided to take a break from social media to mind his mental health. Noting that the hiatus is his way of fighting back, the musician stated his intention to reach healing.
Jake Zyrus Goes On Social Media Break
On Tuesday, May 23, Zyrus announced his decision through a statement on his Instagram page. The singer began his message by recognizing his inactivity in social media in general.
“Hi all! I know I don’t post a lot, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I’ll be taking a break from social media for a few weeks to focus more on my mental health,” he wrote.
The musician then went on and revealed that a number of people have attempted to penetrate his system online. Thus, as a response, Zyrus chooses to detoxify from the digital world.
“It’s been a rough ride. A lot of people have tried to break me, so this is me fighting back, by healing,” he wrote.
Fully aware that healing is “not gonna be easy,” the singer also knows that it’s necessary to remove himself from the internet. Zyrus then concluded his statement by encouraging others who experience the same to take a well-deserved break as well.
Fans, Friends Send Support
Soon after his announcement, Zyrus’ friends and followers expressed their support. AGT winner Bianca Ryan commented on the matter, stating that she’s encountered the same experience in the past months.
“You got this. Just went through the same thing for over the last 6 months. Xo Stay strong,” Bianca Ryan commented.
Additionally, some of Zyrus’ friends commented heart emojis, intimating their presence for him.
”Take extra good care of yourself. Sending lots of love. Feel better soon!” one person wrote.
In the past months, Zyrus have been posting impressive music covers online. Some of his viral hits are his rendition of “Under the Influence” by Chris Brown and “This I Promise You” by NSYNC.
