Jackie Evancho Releases New Single ‘Behind My Eyes’
Last week, Evancho shared on Instagram that “Behind My Eyes” is “the first song to be released both written and sung by me.” She added that it’s “unlike anything I’ve released before.” The song became available on Friday, along with an atmospheric lyric video.
“If you could see behind my eyes / You’d see the truth inside the lies,” Evancho sings on the song’s chorus. “And if you read between the lines / You’d see I’m running from my mind.”
The track features Evancho’s angelic vocals over a cool pop beat. When announcing the song’s release on Instagram, Evancho wrote that she’s “nervous to share this part of me,” adding, “In the end, it’s my truth, and I hope you all take a piece of it with you.”
Fans showed their support for the singer, with one YouTube commenter writing, “The transition from opera singer to pop is hard to do for some. You fit this genre so well! The retro vibes, the visuals and the music. This is really great! Good job!”

Evancho Is Ready to Share Her Music
Earlier this week, ahead of the song’s release, Evancho posted a video of herself on social media talking about what it’s like to finally be releasing such personal music for her fans to hear.
“This is going to begin the entire journey of me sharing my music with the world, which is a big deal for me, because this is something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember,” Evancho said. “It’s also pretty nerve-wracking, because I’m gonna be sharing a lot of very personal stuff about me that a lot of you probably didn’t know.”
Evancho previously released another original song on TikTok called “Get Out of My Life.” As she wrote of the honest track, “It’s not perfect, it’s not finished, but I wanted you to hear it.”
