Howie Mandel Wants to Set Sofia Vergara Up on a Date After Divorce

Howie Mandel is ready to set his fellow America’s Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara up on a date following her split from husband Joe Manganiello. Mandel sang Vergara’s praises, saying she’s “great for everyone.”

“I love Sofia Vergara. I find her incredibly, first, in no particular order, beautiful, smart, funny,” Mandel told People, adding that the Modern Family actress “deserves to be with somebody ASAP.”
Vergara and her husband Joe Manganiello announced their split in July of this year. Shortly thereafter, Manganiello filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Mandel joked that he wants to put Vergara on the Jewish dating site JDate.
“I scream it from the rooftops,” the comedian said of his desire to set Vergara up with a new man. “Sometimes people think that’s inappropriate, other people, not Sofia. She doesn’t get mad at me.”
Mandel made a quip about Vergara’s new single status on AGT this season, joking that she was “looking for eligible bachelors.” He responded to backlash over the joke by saying he thinks it’s “never too soon” to start dating again after a breakup.

Vergara Says She ‘Can’t Complain’ About Her Year
Vergara appears to be taking her split from Manganiello in stride, as she doesn’t seem bothered by Mandel’s comments. The actress recently admitted that she’s had “an interesting year.”
“A lot of changes, a lot of good and craziness and bad things happen and good things happen. You know, what makes life so entertaining and interesting,” Vergara told Entertainment Tonight, adding, “I can’t complain. I’ve had a great, great time. There’s always time for more good stuff coming.”
During AGT this season, Vergara shared what she’s looking for in a new partner, explaining, “Someone healthy, someone handsome, someone that has a great sense of humor. Someone that is happy with himself. That’s it.”
