Reading Time: 2 minutes
Canada’s Got Talent is coming back to Citytv after a nine year hiatus. This branch of the Got Talent franchise has been revived after facing cancellation in 2012. Fans of the franchise were happy to hear that this series would be returning to television, now with our favorite America’s Got Talent judge on the panel.
Howie Mandel will sit at the judges’ table along with Canadian comedian and YouTuber Lilly Singh; professional wrestler Trish Stratus; and Canadian rapper, music producer and DJ, Kardinal Offishall. Canadian country pop singer Lindsay Ell will host the upcoming series.
“This dynamic and powerhouse team of globally celebrated Canadian heavyweights – Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh, Kardinal Offishall, Trish Stratus, and Lindsay Ell – set the stage for ‘CGT’ to uncover the nation’s most unique and mind-blowing acts,” said Nataline Rodrigues, director of original programming, Citytv.
The judges for this series are setting this show up for greatness. Each of them are talented in their own ways and have had a lot of experience in their industries.
What Else is There to Know About Canada’s Got Talent?
The series currently has not secured a premiere date, but live auditions will begin next month. This series will film between November 9 to 12. On each day there are both 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. shows, excluding Nov. 12 where there will only be a 1 p.m. show. Filming will take place in Fallsview Casino Niagara Falls, Ontario. You can enter the audience member ticket lottery now.
All audience members must show proof of vaccination and wear a mask for the entirety of the show. Within the ticket lottery terms and conditions there is no specific clause requiring audience members to live within the country. Anyone who takes part in the ticket lottery should hear back from producers within 72 hours of their submission.
With filming set for just a few weeks away, we can expect this show to return this spring with enough time for the series to conclude before Mandel has to make it back to California to begin filming for America’s Got Talent.
