The Voice coach Gwen Stefani recently stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show and reflected on some of her past red carpet looks. One of the outfits was significant, because she wore it on her first public date with her now-husband Blake Shelton.

Clarkson showed Stefani a photo in which she wore a red gown that looked like it was made of flower petals. Stefani shared that she wore that dress on her “first public date with Blake Shelton.”
“It was the Oscars Vanity Fair Party,” Stefani recalled. “I think I played at the party, and then we went out that night. He never does red carpets, now that I know him … It was raining that night. Always that melts me when I see it, because it’s such a moment for me. A good one.”
Stefani and Shelton first met in 2014 on Stefani’s first season of The Voice. They confirmed their relationship in late 2015 and made their public debut at the Oscars Vanity Fair Party in early 2016. In 2020, the couple got engaged, and they finally tied the knot last summer.

Stefani Laughs at Melissa Villaseñor’s Impression of Her
Saturday Night Live alum and former America’s Got Talent contestant Melissa Villaseñor also made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week. The comedian noted that Stefani has reposted videos of Villaseñor doing impressions of her.
Villaseñor said it’s dangerous when Stefani’s songs come on the radio while she’s driving, “because I get so into your impression.” She then imitated Stefani’s voice, making both her and Clarkson laugh. Stefani even asked her to do it again.
So Villaseñor gave a little taste of Stefani’s song “Underneath it All,” which Clarkson said she loves. We’re just sad that Stefani didn’t join in for a duet.
