Grace Kinstler Teases New Song on Instagram

On Monday, Grace posted a snippet of a new song called “Breaking Myself.” In the clip, the singer performs the song while sitting on the sofa wearing a hoodie. Grace belts out the lyrics to the soulful tune, showing off the powerhouse voice that took her to third place on American Idol Season 19 last year.

“I wouldn’t trade you for somebody else / Even in times when you put us through hell,” she sings on the track. “No, I won’t run / ‘Cause I’m not done / Won’t you understand where I’m coming from / ‘Cause it always hurts when I’m trying to help / How can I fix you if I’m breaking myself?”

Grace thanked the song’s co-writer Ally Sou and producer Gray Hawken. Season 19 runner-up Willie Spence shared his love for the song preview, telling Grace, “Can’t wait to see you.” Grace and Willie will take the Idol stage together later this season.

Grace Is Performing on ‘American Idol’ with Willie Spence

Grace shared the news that she’ll be performing with her “good friend” Willie on American Idol May 2. By that time, Season 20 will have moved into the live shows. Next week, the Top 24 will perform at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii to narrow the competition down further.

Season 19 winner Chayce Beckham has already made an appearance on the show this season. He performed his song “23” for the contestants competing in the Genre Challenge during Hollywood Week. It’s nice to see the show shining a spotlight on the other finalists.

Last year, Grace was voted the Encore winner on Live with Kelly and Ryan, and she got to perform on the show. Grace sang her American Idol single “Love Someone.”
