Gabby Barrett Joins Colton Dixon on ‘Build a Boat’
Dixon finished in seventh place on Season 11 of American Idol back in 2012. Since then, he’s released four studio albums. In 2022, he put out the song “Build a Boat.” Earlier this month, Dixon announced his Build a Boat Tour, kicking off in March.
The singer, who performs Christian music, wrote on Instagram that the song is “all about faith and perseverance.” As he sings on the track’s chorus, “I will build a boat in the sand where they say it never rains / I will stand up in faith, I’ll do anything it takes / With your wind in my sails, your love never fails or fades / I’ll build a boat in the desert place.”
Barrett offers her vocals to the new version of the song, which features a visualizer showing blueprints for a boat. The two singers sound great together on the uplifting track. As Dixon commented on Barrett’s Instagram post about the collaboration, “You killed this! Honored to have you.”
