Fergie Sings An…Interesting Version Of The National Anthem At The NBA All-Star Game

We love Fergie. She was great in the Black Eyed Peas and she was also fantastic in her solo career. And, of course, we love her on The Four. She’s arguably the best part of the show, (besides DJ Khaled’s general wackiness). But her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner before the NBA All-Star Game…well…just watch it. It was a sad day for America.

Look, I’m not ragging on Fergie. That’s a tough song to sing. For whatever reason Francis Scott Key, (who wrote the anthem after witnessing the Battle of Baltimore), wrote some impossible notes into the song. You have to be…well…Evvie McKinney the winner of The Four to be able to hit those notes. If you are more famous for doing some dope intoning, like Fergie, it’s best to stay clear of the song.

People on the interwebs are tearing into Fergie over this, like she burned a flag on a veteran’s lap or something. It’s just a song, guys. Everyone is a critic. Let’s all just move on as a nation.
