Demi Lovato’s fans are showing concern for her after they recently canceled five tour dates. In case you missed it, Lovato canceled five stops on her upcoming ‘It’s Not That Deep’ tour.
Demi Lovato Cancels Tour Dates
On Tuesday, February 10, Lovato announced that they’d be canceling five of her upcoming tour dates. At the time, the singer explained that the cancellations are due to her health.
“While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible,” Lovato wrote via Instagram story. “To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”
Shows in Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Las Vegas, Nevada, and Denver, Colorado have been canceled with no makeup date. Orlando, Florida’s show is moved from April 10 to April 13. The tour will now begin in Orlando on that day.
Refunds will be issued automatically through Ticketmaster or AXS for fans who have previously purchased tickets. Fans who bought their tickets via third-party reseller will need to reach out to the platform for their refund. All tickets for the Orlando will be honored for the new date.
“I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me! Thank you for your support always,” Lovato wrote to finish out her Instagram Story. “I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon.”
Fans Think Lovato Didn’t Think Through the Arena Tour
After Lovato’s surprising cancellations, fans have taken to social media to speculate. Some fans even claim they even knew the singer’s team would cancel the shows, since each date is rather close to one another.
“When demi announced the tour dates I knew there was going to be some rescheduling due to each show being so close to each other with no time to rest but cancelling FIVE shows instead of moving the dates is INSANE,” a fan wrote on X.
“I’m going to be honest… as much as i hate to say it… these 5 cancelled shows were the lowest performing shows of the tour if you get what i’m saying… which makes me even more upset about how this is being handled,” a fan replied.
Other fans commented on how Lovato may have underestimated the difficulties that come along with an arena tour. They also acknowledged that the album itself didn’t have much promotional content.
“I completely understand Demi but she should have thought about this before even doing the tour. The fact that they aren’t even prepared yet and have to move dates around because of the lack of preparation and rehearsing is kinda lazy if we’re being honest. I do love Demi and cannot wait for tour but this is just so weird” another X user wrote.
Ultimately, more fans are upset about cancelled dates because they’ve looked forward to the event. “I saved up every piece of money from each paycheck just to go see her for the first time up close like I understand the mental health thing,” a fan wrote. “I wish she could’ve just rescheduled it till the end of the year”
