Shana Halligan Performed Epic Cher Cover On ‘The Voice’

Shana definitely has one of the most unique voices we have ever heard on The Voice. Her years of experience in the music industry were very apparent the first few notes of the song. It’s not often that we see someone on the show with such a vast vocal range. The coaches were all exchanging looks as they listened to Shana’s unique voice.

Blake Shelton stared down the line at coach Alicia Keys who looked like she was conflicted about pressing her button. Finally, Alicia turned her chair which led Shana’s family to scream with excitement backstage. She gave her a standing ovation at the end of the performance. Alicia compared her to Florence and the Machine and Sia. This made Shana a member of Team Alicia heading into the Battle Rounds.

During the Battle Rounds, Shana went up against powerhouse singer Christiana Danielle. The pair sang “Use Somebody” by Kings Of Leon. Though it was a difficult decision, Alicia chose Christiana as the winner of the Battle. Shana was eliminated from the competition.

Where Is Shana Now?

After being eliminated early on in the competition, Shana was still grateful for her experience on The Voice. “I feel my time on the show was so helpful in recognizing that I don’t have to hide behind a band name any longer, which I’ve always done in the past (Bitter: Sweet)” she said in an interview. “That idea is musically leading me to a place with less production, and more space to really put my vocals out there in even a more vulnerable and audible way.”

She also has continued to work on the music for television and films including a duet in the latest Peter Rabbit movie along with James Corden. Shana did a collaboration with Thievery Corporation, an electronic music group and wrote a song for the YouTube series “Youth and Consequences.”

On Instagram, Shana always posts adorable photos of her five year old son Otis. “Thank you for showing me how to be a better human, how to love with no bounds, and for the joy you bring daddy and I every single day” she captioned a photoset of the two.

Amid the pandemic, Shana has been working on socially distanced music videos and projects with The String Theory, the Grammy-nominated artist collective from Berlin and Gothenburg.
