America’s Got Talent has shared another early release audition from Tuesday’s new episode of Season 18. This time, it features musician BJ Griffin, who plays the electric cello and sings “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green.

Electric Cellist Auditions for AGT in Early Release

BJ told the judges that he plays the electric cello, sharing, “I’m done holding myself back. So I came on to win AGT and achieve my dream of sharing healing through my music with the world.”

He went on to tell the panel that he chose to quit football in high school so that he could pursue music, explaining, “It was a hard decision, because I felt like my parents want me to do football. But in my heart, I wanted to be a musician only.”

BJ started his performance, which involved playing the electric cello and singing “Let’s Stay Together.” He added some fun dance moves and vocal embellishments to make the performance his own. The judges were smiling and swaying along, and the audience cheered for him.

The entire panel gave BJ a standing ovation at the end of his performance. He looked surprised and touched by the gesture. We’ll have to wait until Tuesday’s new episode to find out what the judges thought.

Season 18 Live Shows Start Next Month

We’ve seen so many amazing auditions this season on AGT, and there are still more to come. We expect that there will be at least two more Golden Buzzers before the live shows start — one from judge Sofia Vergara, plus a group Golden Buzzer.

Live shows for Season 18 are set to begin on August 22, as the show moves to two nights a week. Voting will become available to viewers at home, so they can decide which acts should move on. Wednesday nights will feature the results of the overnight vote.

Be sure to tune in to a new episode Tuesday night at 8/7c on NBC.
