According to new reports, Dancing with the Stars will be bringing some exciting changes to Season 31 on Disney+. That apparently includes expanded voting to include the entire United States and Canada.

‘DWTS’ Season 31 to Feature U.S. and Canada Voting

Over the weekend, Dancing with the Stars held a panel at the D23 Expo. The Twitter account @laughing_place was there to hear all the details about the new season, including some exciting news about voting.

This season, live voting will reportedly take place across the United States, as well as in Canada. This is great news, because in the past, fans on the west coast weren’t able to vote while they watched the show. Because the new season is on a streaming service, fans can watch at the same time across the country.

Other exciting news out of D23 is the return of the skybox. This was an element in previous seasons that allowed the contestants to react to their performances after dancing. It sounds like new co-host Alfonso Ribeiro will be conducting those interviews.

“We’re figuring it all out, but mostly I’ll be with the dancers and celebrities and interviewing and getting them to talk about their week and what they’ve been going through — their dances and what do they think of the judges’ scores and that kind of stuff,” Ribeiro told Good Morning America in July.

Disney Night Will Take Place in October This Year

Laughing Place also reported that this year’s Disney Night will take place a little bit earlier than usual, on October 10. This season, the themed episode will apparently be called Disney+ Night instead.

During Season 31, the show’s dance troupe will also apparently return “for larger numbers.” This season’s troupe reportedly features So You Think You Can Dance winner Alexis Warr Burton, as well as returning dancer Ezra Sosa and Ukrainian dancer Kateryna Klishyna.

It was already reported last month that this season will stream free of commercials on Disney+. The celebrity cast was just announced last week, including stars like Chari D’Amelio, Jordin Sparks, and Wayne Brady.

DWTS Season 31 will premiere Monday, September 19 on Disney+.
