‘DWTS’ is Gearing Up for Motown Night — Here’s What to Expect

Dancing With The Stars is now preparing for their upcoming theme night, Motown Night — Featuring the remaining 12 couples, and a special guest judge! On Tuesday, October 10, celebrity/professional pairs will grace the stage with dance routines using some of Motown’s biggest hits.


Michael Strahan to Guest Judge on Week 3

Episode 3 of Dancing With The Stars Season 32 will feature Good Morning America co-anchor Michael Strahan as part of the guest panel. Strahan will join alongside longtime judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.

Motown Night is set to officially kick off with an opening number performed to “Dancing In the Street” by Martha Reeves & The Vandellas. The dance routine is choreographed by Jamal Sims. For the rest of the episode, fans should expect to see Cha Chas, Rumbas, Foxtrots, Jives, Quicksteps, and Tangos.

As per usual, live viewers will be able to vote for their favorite pair during the episode. Viewer votes will be combined with judges’ scores to determine which pair will be up for elimination.


Dancing with the Stars simulcasts live across both ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT and next day on Hulu.

Motown Night Songs, Dance Styles Revealed

The biggest part of the episode, of course, is what the pairs will be performing. Here’s what fans can expect to see on the show. Film star Alyson Hannigan and pro Sasha Farber will be performing a Foxtrot to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Also doing a foxtrot are Marvel star Xochitl Gomez and pro Val Chmerkovskiy, they will dance to “My Guy” by Mary Wells.

Former Bachelorette Charity Lawson and pro Artem Chigvintsev will also be dancing to Foxtrot, to The Temptations hit, “My Girl.” Meanwhile, supermodel Tyson Beckford and pro Jenna Johnson will do the same type of dance to “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” by Stevie Wonder.


TV star Harry Jowsey and pro Rylee Arnold will perform the Foxtrot as well, to “Easy” by Commodores. The last pair performing the Foxtrot is real estate mogul Mauricio Umansky and pro Emma Slater. They will perform to “Working My Way Back to You” by The Spinners.

Two pairs will be performing the Quickstep this week. Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and pro Pasha Pashkov will perform to “You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes. NFL All-Star Adrian Peterson and pro Britt Stewart will also perform the Quickstep to “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5.

Meanwhile, award-winning actress Mira Sorvino and pro Gleb Savchenko will perform a Rumba to “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye. On the other hand, doing Cha Cha to “Super Freak” by Rick James are social media star Lele Pons and pro Brandon Armstrong.

Last but certainly not least, Jason Mraz and pro Daniella Karagach will perform a Jive to “Do You Love Me” by The Contours. Finally, The Brady Bunch actor Barry Williams and pro Peta Murgatroyd will perform a Tango to “Get Ready” by The Temptations.
