Taylor Swift’s chart-topping hits may be playing on speakers in an upcoming episode of Dancing With The Stars. Pro Peta Murgatroyd has unexpectedly teased that the dancing competition series will be having a Taylor Swift tribute week.
Dancing With The Stars to Have a Taylor Swift-Themed Night
In a recent interview with Billboard, Murgatroyd and her celebrity partner Barry Williams revealed that a Taylor Swift-themed night is brewing this season. Apparently though, the DWTS didn’t know if she’s allowed to disclose the information just yet.
“We will be having a Taylor Swift week here,” she said. “Am I allowed to say that?”
Williams then butted in the conversation, saying that he’s a Travis Kelce fan. According to him, his adoration for the football superstar began even before the American football tight end was romantically linked to the “Love Story” singer.
“Apparently, I know who Travis Kelce is now. I did not know that name before,” Murgatroyd excitedly added.
While the DWTS pro did mention about the pop-themed night, she didn’t say when it will take place this season. Previously, pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev hinted at a Swift-themed DWTS night during an episode of The Nikki & Brie Show. At the time, Chigvintsev’s celebrity partner Charity Lawson talked about the Taylor Swift song she wanted to dance to but was apparently rejected by the show.
DWTS has not yet confirmed the theme night at this time. The “Cruel Summer” singer is not unfamiliar with Dancing With The Stars. In fact, Swift celebrated the release of her 2010 album Speak Now on the show where she sang “Mine” as well as her Fearless track “White Horse.”
Fans Comfort Them Over “Unfair” Scores
During the second week of DWTS, Murgatroyd and Williams performed Cha-Cha to “Oye Como Va” by Tito Puente. Unfortunately, the pair earned a 5 from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, which made Murgatroyd clearly frustrated.
Luckily, the duo didn’t land in the bottom two that night. Be that as it may, fans were still disappointed by how the judges decide on their scores. Their supporters took to social media how unfair they think the panel is.
“He was WAY better than stiff Adrian, stiff Mira and stiff Tyson!! Why are the judges being so critical on him and not the others?!” one person wrote.
“The judges were too harsh on Barry tonight,” another fan wrote. “The guy is 69 years old and still has the moves! You guys have my votes tonight.”
“They did him dirty with the scores. That was great!!” another user wrote. “The scores were unfair. He deserved at least a 6!”
Williams revealed that he’s been trying to get on DWTS for 17 years. Now that he’s on the show, he describes his participation as one he can already cross off his bucket list.
Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
