Outpouring love and support came from the Dancing With The Stars cast following Selma Blair’s unfortunate departure from the ballroom. The actress received praise from her DWTS family, she will be missed in the show.

Selma Blair Became An Inspiration To Fellow Competitors

With her journey in the ballroom coming to an abrupt end, the actress became an inspiration to fellow competitors and people with similar chronic illnesses. Blair overcame the odds and performed on the season, regardless of her illness.

Blair has left her mark on the dance floor, but her abrupt farewell to the competition has left remaining cast members emotional. The DWTS cast shared their reactions after the show started with Derek Hough revealing that they got the news of her leaving only minutes before the show started. RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shangela and her partner Gleb Savchenko also shared their sentiments for the actress.

“She represents such strength, such courage, such kindness, beauty, talent, all rolled into one.” Shangela said. “Her presence is most definitely going to be missed in this ballroom.”

Jordin Sparks admits that it was especially emotional for her to see her close friend say goodbye to the show. The singer was visibly bawling her eyes out during Blair and pro Sasha Farber’s final performance.

“The waterworks just comes,” Sparks said. “We love Selma, we adore her, she’s such a bright light. We are definitely gonna miss her here.”

Gabby Windey revealed she was also in tears during the episode, saying that Blair is like a teammate to her. Her partner Val Chmerkovskiy agreed and added that Blair is an impactful performer and just a wonderful person all around.

The Actress Got Emotional as She Bids Farewell to DWTS

Blair becoming emotional is completely understandable as she pushed as far as she could on the show. The hard decision was made after MRI results revealed that continuing on the show will be detrimental to her health.

After committing to doing one last dance with Farber, Blair revealed what it was like to receive so much support from everyone in an emotional statement.

“I’m not crying about the Mirrorball. I have so much better than a Mirrorball here,” Blair said. “I’m crying because I will truly miss this. It’s a lot of love, and to walk away, and to have to let the love continue without you.”

Although her time on the show was cut short, Blair walks away a winner as she won the hearts of millions of viewers across the globe.
