Do You Remember Christina Aguilera’s Time as a Coach on ‘The Voice’?

A recent TikTok trend has people sharing their alternate names and characters. While some people have been sharing their nicknames, celebrities have dominated this trend by sharing their on-screen names. One celebrity that has gone beyond viral in this trend is none other than former The Voice coach Christina Aguilera.

While fans of this pop star knew she’d include nicknames like Xtina, Baby Jane, and Candy, she also honored her time on The Voice. For one of the nicknames, the international superstar wrote Coach. Coach is written on top of a video of her on The Voice. Aguilera hasn’t been on the series since 2016, but it makes sense that this would be one of her nicknames, she was a staple for six seasons.

Aguilera was one of the original coaches when The Voice launched in 2011. During the first season, she sat alongside other coaches Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Adam Levine. Aguilera is definitely one of the forgotten best coaches of this series. On The Voice she was known for her thriving career in pop music in the late 1990s and early 2000’s. She was recognized for her hits “Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants,” “Come On Over Baby (All I Want is You),” and more. While all of the coaches are accomplished in their own way, she was the main coach for anyone who wanted to perform within the pop genre.

Is She Coming Back to the Series?

The pop singer stayed as a coach on the series until 2014 when she took a brief year-long hiatus. In 2015, she returned to the show, then won for the first time in 2016. She won the series with pop, rock, and country singer Alisan Porter. Even though Aguilera hasn’t come back to the series since winning, she’s made it clear that she’ll never forget the experience.

While I don’t think Aguilera is returning to The Voice anytime soon, having her back as a mega mentor could be fun. She’s an artist that has been everywhere and done almost everything. After leaving the series as a coach she continued her successful career. Most recently, she has translated her pop success into the Latin music industry. She launched her recent success in Latin music in 2021 with the release of “Pa Mis Muchachas.”

In 2022, Aguilera has released a new EP called La Fuerza. With the release of this EP the singer noted her dedication to Latin music is a result of her Latina roots. La Fuerza debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes U.S. Latin music chart. The singer shared that this is just the beginning, so I think it’s safe to say 2022 is the year of Latin music for Aguilera.
