BIO: Lee DeWyze was one of 13 singers from Chicago to make it through to Hollywood week on season nine of American Idol. He was one of two singers from that season that never landed in the bottom three. Soon after winning the series he embarked on the American Idol LIVE tour and signed a record deal with 19 Entertainment and RCA Records.
DeWyze began singing at a young age and was discovered by musician Louis Svitek at 17 years old singing at a house party. The singer then signed with WuLi Records, the independent company Svitek runs in Chicago. He then formed the “Lee DeWyze Band” with three others including Svitek. The group released two albums together and was known locally before DeWyze auditioned for the competition.
This American Idol winner announced his engagement to model and actress Jonna Walsh in July 2011, they wed a year later in July 2012.
