The day has officially come, Canada’s Got Talent announced it will premiere their return season on March 22. The Canadian branch of the Got Talent franchise is ready for its big revival with America’s Got Talent fan favorite judge Howie Mandel leading the CGT team.

After a nine year hiatus, Canada’s Got Talent will finally return to television in 2022. This series faced cancellation in 2012, but is hoping to come back bigger and stronger than ever with fan favorite America’s Got Talent judge, Mandel, on the panel. Move over Simon Cowell, Mandel is the star on this Got Talent branch.

On December 31, the show shared a 30 second video to their social media. Within the video, the judges and host are seen in New Year’s Eve attire. They share that while ringing in the new year, the countdown to their upcoming series is just beginning.

“Get ready Canada, this is going to blow your mind!” Mandel says in the video.

Fans will be able to watch this series on Citytv’s network and online streaming service. Since this series is so new, there has been no announcement of if other streaming services, like Hulu or Netflix, will pick it up. I’m hoping this series airs similar to Britain’s Got Talent, making it onto American television as well.

Everything We Know About Canada’s Got Talent

Mandel is returning to his home country for this series revival. He will be on the judging panel next to YouTuber Lilly Singh; professional wrestler Trish Stratus; and Canadian rapper, music producer, and DJ, Kardinal Offishall. Canadian country pop singer Lindsay Ell will host the upcoming series.

Before filming, the network shared that this all star panel strives to find the most talented people in the country. Stratus has shared countless behind the scenes looks at the series and has confirmed people will great talent will be on the show.

Auditions took place at the Fallsview Casino Niagara Falls, Ontario in early November. Both semifinals and live shows will take place in this casino as well. If this series follows AGT‘s format, we should see semifinals and live shows in early May. We’re hoping to see Mandel appear on both the American and Canadian series this spring, but there has yet to be confirmation that the comedian will continue on with both shows.
