Chrissy Teigen has taken to Instagram to respond to speculation that she and her husband John Legend welcomed their baby daughter Esti via surrogate. Apparently some people think Teigen faked her baby bump during pregnancy.
Chrissy Teigen Responds to Surrogate Speculation
In January, Teigen and Legend welcomed baby Esti to their family. She joins their two other children, 7-year-old daughter Luna and 4-year-old son Miles. The couple had been open about their pregnancy loss and IVF journey.
Earlier this week, Teigen shared a photo of Esti on Instagram, pointing out a mark on the baby’s face by writing that she “still has the angel on her forehead.” According to E! News, a commenter on the post asked if Teigen welcomed Esti via surrogate.
Another user reportedly responded to that comment by claiming Teigen used a baby bump prosthetic “called a moonbump” to make it look like she was pregnant. The model took to Instagram stories to respond.
Teigen wrote that she was “obsessed with this comment,” adding a photo from right after Esti’s birth that shows her in a hospital bed. She joked, “Extremely realistic ‘moon bump.'”

Teigen Has Recently Faced Criticism from Commenters
This isn’t the first time Teigen has responded to Instagram comments about baby Esti. Last month, Teigen shared a photo from a family trip to Italy where Legend can be seen holding Esti against his chest in a baby carrier.
A commenter claimed that the parents weren’t using the carrier correctly. This prompted Teigen to respond, “She doesn’t like to be high and tight and likes to look around and see her daddy. She is safe and happy.”
Teigen has said she’s more confident as a mom of three, adding that she’s not as quick to take people’s parenting advice. As Teigen said, she doesn’t “accept being shamed about anything.”
