Reading Time: 3 minutes
Award winning singer/songwriter Charlie Puth has officially released another song off his upcoming studio album, CHARLIE. Puth originally shared the creation of this song on TikTok, so it’s no surprise that it has already reached more than four million streams on Spotify.
The Catchy New Single Describes Painful Love
Puth teamed up with Travis Barker for his newest single, “I Don’t Think That I Like Her.” The song’s vibe is extremely similar to other previews of the album, “Smells Like Me” and “Light Switch.” “I Don’t Think That I Like Her” features a funky beat and a catchy chorus line.
The song’s lyrics tell of a relationship that did not work out in the end and left him feeling paranoid. The storyline of “I Don’t Think That I Like Her” explains that Puth did everything to build a healthy relationship, yet it ends in heartbreak. Although he disregards their differences, he can’t escape the reality that she might want something different.
“I don’t think that I like her anymore/ Girls are all the same/ All they wanna do is break my heart, my heart/ I don’t think that I like her anymore/ Girls are all the same/ They just wanna see me fall apart,” he sings.
Puth teased “I Don’t Think I Like Her,” over a year and a half ago with a since-deleted TikTok video. The singer has turned to his audience of 19.3 million followers on the app throughout the creation process of CHARLIE. His third studio album is set for release on October 7.
The release is accompanied by a North American tour throughout October and November, entitled One Night Only. The tour kicks off in New Jersey and will conclude in California.
How Camila Cabello Got Charlie Puth to Be her Battle Advisor
Puth will soon serve as Camila Cabello’s Battle Advisor in The Voice season 22. The two singers are chart-topping performers with unique styles all their own, making them a perfect team. Fans wonder how one of the world’s biggest pop stars recruited another mega-musician for the Battle Advisor gig.
Puth and Cabello working together on The Voice actually came out as a last-minute call. The decision for them to work together happened shortly after the Battle Advisors announcement went live.
In a casual text exchange, Cabello texted Puth’s people about the offer so that Puth wouldn’t feel pressured if he wanted to say no. Puth initially said “Oh, I would love to do that. Let me think about that.” Eventually though, Puth revealed that he actually really wanted to do The Voice with Cabello.
Puth praises Cabello’s method of giving advice to her contestants, and they are constantly working together in the show. He will be on The Voice in the upcoming Battle Rounds, which follows the blind auditions.
