One of the winners of American Idol that went on to have an incredible career is Carrie Underwood. The Oklahoma native and country superstar launched her career when she won season four of American Idol. This year, on the American Idol reboot, a young girl from Carrie’s hometown of Checotah, OK made it past the auditions and Carrie is showing her some love.
In the story before the show, there is an old video of Kenedee singing with Carrie in Oklahoma when she was just a little girl. Clearly, she’s modeled her whole career trajectory after Carrie. She even auditioned with one of Carrie’s songs, I Told You So. She had to convince Luke and Katy to let her on the show by also singing Katy’s Firework. But, she got her golden ticket and Carrie had this to say on Twitter,
Finally getting to catch up on this week’s @AmericanIdol !!! Love to see some more ❤ for Checotah with @kenritt ! Good luck in Hollywood, girl!!! ?

We hope Kenedee does well. How great a story will it be if two singers do well from the same little Oklahoma town. The only thing that ever happened in my little Texas town was that the movie Urban Cowboy with John Travolta was set there. A dubious honor indeed.
