Canada’s Got Talent Season 2 returned on Tuesday night, as the judges and host joined forces to hit the Golden Buzzer for a fun dance crew called The Cast. It was the final Golden Buzzer of the season, as the show heads into the Semifinals.
Dance Crew Earns Canada’s Got Talent Group Golden Buzzer
The Cast introduced themselves as a hip-hop dance crew from Quebec, Canada. The judges got a kick out of their costumes, which made them look like old people. They explained that they wanted to depict what they would look like if they were still dancing together years from now.
The group went on to deliver an energetic dance routine that even incorporated canes and a wheelchair. The audience and judges clearly enjoyed the performance. The entire panel gave them a standing ovation when it was over.
That’s when the audience started chanting for the judges to hit the Golden Buzzer. All four of them, plus host Lindsay Ell, had each hit it for an act already. However, the show allows for a group Golden Buzzer from all five of them.
After calling Ell down to the judges’ table, Howie Mandel said, “Sometimes, we have to serve the people.” They all proceeded to hit the Golden Buzzer together, sending The Cast straight to the Semifinals.
Auditions for CGT Season 2 have wrapped up, and it’s time for the show to move into the Semifinals. Out of the acts who made it through the audition round, only 18 are going to this next round. That includes the Golden Buzzer acts.
One act that’s noticeably absent from the list is aerial acrobatic duo Woody & Fenton, who earned the Golden Buzzer from judge Lilly Singh. Unfortunately, the pair had to drop out of the competition after their audition due to an injury.
