Can Dwyane Wade Sing? Watch Him Try On ‘AGT’ — And Simon Cowell’s Reaction
AGT guest judge Dwyane Wade didn’t just share his opinions about the acts appearing on the show this week. He also showed off a talent of his own — singing. Whether he’s actually any good at it is up for interpretation, but at least he enjoyed himself. So if you ever curious about Dwyane Wade’s singing talent you got the answer this week on agt.
In a funny moment from this week’s Judge Cuts episode, Dwyane gets on stage to pump up the crowd by singing “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan. The audience seemed to enjoy it, but his fellow judges weren’t so sure. [Read on to see the video]
How The Judges Reacted To Dwyane’s Singing
“I don’t know who you are,” Dwyane’s wife Gabrielle Union said with a laugh. When Simon Cowell was asked what he thought, he pulled a face that seemed to suggest he wasn’t impressed. At least Howie Mandel thought it was “amazing.”
The Indian dance group V.Unbeatable seemed to enjoy the performance as well. Members of the group could be seen singing and dancing along with Dwyane backstage. So it’s fitting that Dwyane chose to hit the Golden Buzzer for the group’s high-flying act. “I know the sacrifice it takes,” he told them, and even joined them for a huddle in the midst of their celebration.
Did Dwyane Wade Show Off His Singing Talent Before?
Dwyane may not exactly be American Idol material, but he doesn’t let that stop him from singing his heart out. In fact, he’s shared his voice with the world a few times before this.
In 2014, Dwyane made a guest appearance on the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally, where he sat at the piano and performed an original song of questionable quality. Of course, in that case he was supposed to sound bad.
Earlier this year, Dwyane was also caught singing karaoke. TMZ released a video of the former basketball star performing “Candy Rain” at a bar in Charlottesville, Virginia. You can judge his talent for yourself in the video below.
Dwyane seems to be enjoying his post-sports life. As Gabrielle said to him after his AGT performance, “I like retirement D.” Maybe the show can hire him to hype up the audience between acts.
What Is #DGFamily?
You may have noticed Dwyane Wade wearing a sweater with the hashtag #DGFAMILY on this week’s AGT episode. Some viewers used the hashtag when tweeting about Dwyane’s appearance on the show. But according to 2 Paragraphs, there’s nothing personal about it — it’s just Dolce & Gabbana.
There’s a nice concept behind the hashtag, however. The brand’s #DGFamily project involves collecting people’s family portraits on their website. You can see the gallery of photos here.
