Brad Paisley Made A Trump Joke On ‘AGT’ And No One Noticed
If you weren’t paying attention, you may have missed AGT guest judge Brad Paisley’s Donald Trump joke during this week’s Judge Cuts episode. And it’s not the first time the show’s judges and contestants have poked fun at the U.S. president.
“The Orange Magician?” Brad says in the clip, apparently reading the name of the next contestant. Then he asks, “Trump?” The comment made fellow judge Simon Cowell laugh. Of course, the Orange Magician isn’t a Trump impersonator, but rather a quirky quick-change performer dressed in an orange suit.
Lori Mae Hernandez Makes Trump Joke
Brad Paisley isn’t the first person on AGT to make a joke about Trump. In 2016, before Trump was even elected, 13-year-old stand-up comic Lori Mae Hernandez referred to the then-candidate in her audition.
Lori says her only qualification to be a babysitter is that she used to be a baby. “That’s like saying, ‘Hey, you’re sick a lot. You wanna be my doctor?'” she continued. “Or ‘Weren’t you the host of a reality show? You wanna be president of the United States?'” The comment earned a standing ovation from judge Howie Mandel and the audience.
The Singing Trump
In 2017, after Trump was elected, an act called the Singing Trump took the AGT stage. Judge Mel B buzzed him as soon as he walked out. The Trump impersonator performed Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” and “Uptown Funk.”
“This better be good,” Howie told him before the performance, as the crowd turned their thumbs down and made X’s with their arms. “Or they’re gonna build a wall around you, and this audience is gonna pay for it.”
This week also wasn’t the first time Brad Paisley has made fun of Donald Trump. While hosting the 2017 CMA Awards with Carrie Underwood, Brad sang a parody of Carrie’s “Before He Cheats” that changed the lyric to “before he tweets,” referring to the president’s questionable Twitter habits.
