Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro returned on Monday night for another new episode, as the remaining nine dancers took on a group dance challenge. Britt Stewart served as a guest judge, and the episode ended in a shocking elimination.
DWTS: The Next Pro Contestant Injured in Group Dance
Monday’s new episode of The Next Pro started with DWTS pro Britt Stewart teaching a group dance routine to the remaining nine contestants. After three hours of rehearsal, they were asked to perform what they’d just learned for the judges.
Unfortunately, while rehearsing the dance, contestant Natalie was injured when Stephani accidentally hit her in the face. Natalie was taken away in an ambulance, and she was unable to participate in this first group dance.
The Next Pro judges Shirley and Mark Ballas decided that Tristen and Nina were the weakest dancers in the group routine, but they weren’t in danger of elimination just yet. Instead, they were named the team captains for the second group challenge, getting to choose which dancers were on their teams.
Natalie was still under medical supervision at that point, so she wasn’t able to participate in this challenge. As a result, each team consisted of four dancers, performing either the tango or the paso doble.

Episode Ends in Shocking Elimination
First up was Tristen’s group, which also included Stephani, Selena, and Erik. They danced a paso doble to “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz. Tristen and Selena faced criticism from the judges, while Shirley Ballas praised Stephani and Erik for their group work.
Next, Nina’s group (also featuring Allen, AJ, and Adele) performed a tango to “Into You” by Ariana Grande. Allen fell over toward the beginning of the routine, but he quickly got back up. Shirley Ballas praised AJ for becoming more “humble” this week.
Team Tango was chose as the winner, while Selena and Tristen ended up in the bottom two. However, neither of them ended up going home, as Natalie was still “not medically cleared to compete.” Therefore, she was eliminated from the competition.
